Update (Janaury 9, 2005)

=====================================================================

Dear Sayas and Colleagues,

Feedback from Ko Hla Kyi, Ko Zaw Aung, and Saya U Maung Maung

(George, ChE).

====================================================================

Our heartfelt thanks

====================================================================

Ko Thaung Sein (Steeve Kay, Elec 70) is one of the alums, who have

never forgotten their roots [despite academic and career successes]. He

has been a pillar of support for the activities of RIT Alumni

International in general, and the Grand Reunion and Saya Pu Zaw Pwes in

particular. His contributions include:

Golden Sponsor for Reunion 2000

Golden Sponsor for Singapore 2002

Diamond Sponsor for Yangon 2004

Sponsor for numerous gatherings and mini-SPZPs of intake '64

Seed money for a Charitable Alliance of Burmese Americans

...

Feeling that the Sayas and Sayamas should be taken care of beyond the

Grand Reunions and Saya Pu Zaw Pwes, Ko Thaung Sein has pledged US

$50000 for the "Sayas' Health Fund". Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu.

Our sincerest appreciation to all donors -- large and small -- for

helping to keep the RIT spirit alive. There is enough critical mass to

keep the Grand Reunions and Saya Pu Zaw Pwes to continue for a long,

long time.

We request our alums to continue sharing the good news as well as

the sad news, post and/or archive RIT-related articles and photo/video

albums in the various web sites and news groups, ..., and last but the

least, pass the torch to younger alums so that they can excel in their

professional endeavors.

Now Malaysia Embassy do not allow us to queue to apply visa and they

do not want crowded people near the embassy. We can apply Malaysia Visa

from the agent. There are more than 30 agents island wide. You pay

agent fee S$ 30/- , one photo and sign on application form. You can

have multi entry one year visa, maximum 2 working days. If you want to

apply it yourself, it may take more time for [preparation and]

processing.

Best Regards,

Hla Kyi (77 EC)

Some updates are [re]posted at

http://www.geocities.com/sgprit/news.htm (Revised site)

Although I did not participate this BIG ceremony [Yangon 2004 SPZP],

many amazing activities happened in our beloved land Burma, RIT.

There was a great gathering -- a big accomplishment. Many people

donated [money, kind, and time] for 2004 Saya PZP. My personal great

thanks to fund collectors' hard work.

Amazing news is excess 250 laks and organizers' initiative "Saya

Health and General" fund. Great. Hope their noble target to success.

Best regards

Zaw Aung
