Ko Nyunt Aung's wife

Ko Nyunt Aung's wife is in Singapore and she received the

compensation for Ko Nyunt Aung by the effort of working partners, Ko

Mya Thaung and Ko Than Win.

On her behalf, I would like to thank all of you for all kinds of

help in Ko Nyunt Aung's funeral on June 2004.

Miscellaneous: Retreat at SMC

Sayadaw U Ranjinda & Committee setup SMC (Satipatthana Mediation

Center, "www.dhammapuja.com/smc") and he reside at SMC. Sayadaw does

not stay in BDMS anymore because the original resident Australian monk

came back and stays there. Kindly circulate "2005 Chinese New Year

Retreat at SMC (9.2.2005 - 13.2.2005 )" to your friends and

well-wishers.

Sayadaw U Ranjinda will be conducted the Retreat in Chinese New

Year holidays. Details and schedules are as follows.

Miscellaneous: Gatherings in the Bay Area

BAPS conducted its monthly meeting today in Daly City, Northern

California. Attendees include the Past Presidents Saya U Nyo Win, Ko

Benny Tan, and Ko Maurice Chee [who also cooked/served "Kyaung Lay

Kaung" kha-yu khauk swe].

BAPS will be holding its Annual Dinner in March, 2005. Details will

be posted at the web site http://www.bapsusa.org

Theravada Buddhist Society of America (TBSA) will be holding a

General Meeting at the Dhammananda Vihara, Half Moon Bay, Northern

California on Saturday, February 19, 2005. Saya U Myat Htoo has served

as the President for the past three terms (six years). Sadhu, sadhu,

sadhu for the sasana work done during his tenure.

The "Htamane Festival" will take place on Sunday, February 20, 2005.

Tathagatha Meditation Center (TMC) in San Jose, Northen California,

will host a gathering to celebrate Tet (New Year by the Vietnamese

yogis) and to offer requisites to the resident monks on Sunday,

February 6, 2005.

Beelin Sayadaw is the Chief resident monk of TMC. Sayadaw U

Silananda is the Spiritual Advisor of TMC.

Came back from a mini-gathering in honor of Ko Maurice Chee (Past

BAPS President) and Ko Benny Tan (Past Past BAPS President). Among

those present were Saya Allen Htay, Saya U Maung Maung (George), Ko

Myint Swe, Ma San San Nwe, Ko Aye Tun (Anthony), Ko Mya Thwin

(Phillip), ...

Saya U Nyo Win (Past Past Past BAPS President) is on a business

trip, and therefore could not make it to the dinner at Grand Palace in

South San Francisco, California.

Ko Thaung Sein (Steeve Kay, Elec 70) provided the seed money to

form the Charitable Alliance of Burmese Associations (CABA).

Ko Benny Tan reported that CABA has been recognized by IRS as a

501(c)(3) non-profit association.

The dhamma friends of the late Ko Kyaw Zaw Tun will be offering

ah-yone-soon and prerequisites to the sayadaws at Tathagatha Meditation

Center on Sunday, January 23, 2005.

 

May Ko Kyaw Zaw Tun [who volunteered as a translator for the dhamma

talks at TMC] rest in peace.
