=====================================================================
Dear Ko Hla Min,
Talking with some of my engineer friends regarding my lecture
presentation of the subject topic which I delivered at the American
Institute of Architects National Convention & Exposition in San Diego
generated a lot of interest among design engineers. The lecture is on
sale at the AIA document library. However, if your group of engineers
are interested I will send you a copy as my gift for your library. This
presentation was highly rated by the audience including some of the
well known architects from all over the world. Please respond and
include your mailing address ASAP.
Keep up the very good work you are doing. Every one appreciates it.
Good luck and God Bless you.

Yangon-2004
======================================================================
Dear Ko Win Khaing,
It was nice talking to you on the telephone last Saturday and thank
you for your e-mail about the October 17, 2004 meeting in Yangon. We
also held the Bay Area RIT Alumni meeting on Sunday October 17, 2004 at
Maurices brother house. One of the agenda item was the Saya Puzawpwe
in Yangon. From the meeting we found out that the following alumni from
the Bay Area will be attending the Puzawpwe.
Benny Tan
Saya Maung Maung (Chemical)
Anthony Ng
Ko Myat Thwin (Kuen Sar Lin)
Yap May Loo
Saya Myat Htoo
Reginald Wu
Saya Mao Toon Siong (Mechanical)
Saya Alan Htay (Civil)
Ko Khin Maung Zaw (our web master from Seattle)
Ko Hla Min will try and put out the list of alumni attending the Saya
Puzawpwe event to the best of our knowledge this coming weekend. The
information you have given us is very useful and I will spread it
around the alumni in the Bay Area. I can appreciate the great work that
you and your team are doing over there to make this Saya Puzawpwe a
great success since I was deeply involved with the first one here in
San Francisco. Please thank everyone for their great efforts. It is a
great way to pay back and give back to our Saya and Sayama as a token
of our appreciation. The knowledge that they instilled in us to make
us who we are today can never be paid back for the rest of our lives.
Sincerely,
Benny (Tan Yu Beng - Mechanical 64)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Benny
Thanks for your support and active cooperation to make the Puzawpwe
2004 at Yangon a great success. We are glad to know that yourself and
Ko Khin Mg Zaw are confirmed to attend. Saya U Tin Htut, U Myat Htoo, U
Tin Htway has confirmed also. Saya U Aung Khin has emailed to us some
time ago that he will be attending the Yangon Puzawpwe event with his
family. We look forward to yr continued assistance to contact the a
lumni in USA for attendence and contributions.
The organizing commitee for the PZP 2004 and Gathering of Engineering
Alumni held its 6th meeting at the MICT Park yesterday and was attended
by more than 80 alumni representing the academic, government, business,
MNCs and NGOs.
All matters relating to the Puzawpwe event at the Myanmar Convention
Centre, the dinner event at the Dusit Inya Lake Hotel, the
entertainment programs are all confirmed and the invitations are going
out to the sayas and alumni by early November. The confirmed Saya list
will be posted on the website"www.sayapzpygn.com" and it will total
more than 250 sayas.
The contributions received through the receipt book totaled K 100
lakhs as at 17/10 with pledges of another K 100 recorded. More receipt
books will come at the next meeting scheduled for 14 Nov and we
estimate the minimum requirement of K 300 lakhs will be fulfilled by
that time.
The organizing commitee is anticipating generous contributions from
our alumni residing overseas so that more can be spent on our Sayas.
Most of the activities for the organizing commitee are funded by
sponsors and up to date nothing has been used from the contributions
from the Alumni. All the puzawpwe funds are credited into a bank
account administered by 3 alumni including Saya U Lin.
The organizing commitee and those attending the 6th meeting has
unanimously nominated me as the official spokesman on behalf of the
Saya Puzawpwe and Gathering of Engineering Alumni 2004 event in Yangon
to reply to all your queries and request for information. This will
ensure correctness of information regarding the PZP event from a single
source. The updated website will be the official forum for posting any
information essential for all alumni who wish to attend and contribute
to the PZP.
As aware by all alumni, the expenses for the dinner event will not
be funded by the contributions for the PZP. It will be held solely on
the receipts from the sale of dinner tickets at K10,000 per ticket and
if need be supported by individual sponsors. Gift shops will be opened
at both the PZP event and Dinner event to sell PZP Yangon 2004
souvenirs and mementos (sports shirts/T-shirts/shan bags/pocket diary
2005/commenmorative glasses/porcelain and ceremic vases/coffee mugs,
etc.)
Entertainment programs at the dinner event(in the lawn of Inya Lake
Hotel) will be mememorable with nostalgic themes, T-Square dance
routine, traditional dances, songs specially written for the PZP event,
Saung music by noted harpist(ex-alumni). Professional and celebrity
artistes who have passed the path of YIT will be performing for the
alumni and sayas.
Please share this information with all our alumni within your
network and look forward to see you soon.
With best regards
Ko Win Khaing

Dear Ko Zaw Aung,
Thank you for your information and suggestion as we need coordination
from the alumni. We collected data from many sources but some sayas are
still missing as we haven't got complete data. Even from the YTU
Departments (Both Engineering & Supporting) cannot give complete data.
We would like to reply you as follow;
1) For Sayama Daw May Than Nwe (Physics), we have already updated.
2) U Than Din (P.S.) is 59 years old, not so young as you think.
3) Saya PZP meeting decided the age to cover the Saya for the graduates
of 2004.
Above (Still in service Sayas) are the Saya of up to now 2004.
Regards,
U Zaw Min /U Hla Win

From Sayama Daw Tin Tin Myint (Emma, ChE)
======================================================================
Yesterday we had a meeting at my place to finailise for the
forthcoming Saya Pu Zaw Pwe in Dec. There were about 12 people present
mostly EC members. The cut off age is 58 and I am eligible this year.
We are attending and I put in Sin 200$ for donation. My mother-in-law
is 92 years old and my hubby goes every year to see his mother. I
cooked Yakhine Montee and Mohinga, fruits and laphet, and drinks and
spirits. Ko Winn Khine Htay, we sure have a good feast whenever we come
to this house but we feel very "ah nar tae". So I said I am happy to be
cooking for others. Ko Myint Thein commented "Sayama, you do not need
and excuse, anytime you just call us and we will come over".
My hubby came back from golf tournament at 7pm and we had a good
time playing music, singing and dancing. Ko Myint San [Mech] came with
his friend who is a Saung saya armed with his Saung. They had many
curious looks on MRT. We finished the party only at 12 pm.
Many asked about my Pa. Before I left my sister and I discussed. We
decided we would not take very drastic treatments. On the second day of
my arrival he had a second stroke. He could not even swallow one tea
spoon of water. The Doctor came n tried to put in Riles Tube for nasal
feeding unsuccessfully. He also could not do intravenous. Only the next
day evening 3 doctors came and could find viens at the feet to put in.
I bought for my father Complan, Ensure, Chicken Essence. We could see
he was trying so hard to consume. I commented to my doctor friend my
father is still fighting. He does not want to die. He said in his life
of 5 decades of profession nobody has ever died willingly.
Some friends were going to Min Kun for Ti Ni Pu Zaw Pwe. One of my
Yahans had also finished all 3 portions of Tu Ni. He was also of the
monks for the Pwe. They said I should come along since its such a rare
opportunity to see your Yahan's victory.
My father is from Mandalay and we have a family monastry in Wa
Kin Gon. His great grand parents founded it.My mother n I have been
rebuilding the Monastery for the past two years. My ambition is to
finish it in my father's life time. I looked at my father and decided
he would certainly live a few more weeks. My mother was due in two days
to arrive from Canada to Yangon. I went to sadddamanyannti sayadaw to
wish for my mother to see my father alive. Then I went off to Mingon
for 4 days. Everyday I would call to YGN to ask about my Pa. I had a
good time at Mingon and could perform Yay Sat Cha for my Kyaung.
Everbody please share my merits and call Saddu to me.
When I came back to Ygn I could tell my father that his ancestor
monastery is rebuilt and finished. It could accomodate about 200 monks.
The compound is very big. There is also a small Pagoda. It was built
with my grand father's life insurance money, hence the name Kyauk Sedi
Wa Khin Gon Kyaung Taik. They have about twenty monks living there, 4
of them will be sitting for Dhamma Sayira this year. It also has a
tuition centre for the normal students which is very popular.
I came back since my mother is already there. The other day I had
a dream my father was sitting in my living room in his Sunday's best.
So I called to Ygn. May be the old man is dying soon and he will
reincarnate as my grand son. My mother said he is doing so well and has
no plans to die in a hurry. If my father has attack everybody [as well
as the cat] would get so busy taking care of him. He has been on oxygen
for the past year or so. Now he is recovering from his second
attack and can even say a few words. As everyone knows his illness has
been a long affair. I would tell him "Pa don't die in a hurry. I am not
free as yet." He replied, "Don't worry, my daughter. My life line is
very good". Maybe there is some truth in it. May be he will still be
around when we go for renion in December.

That's all for now.

How are you?
I was talking to Glenn [Aung Ngwe Tun] (from our UCC class) who had
recently started to work for a Web Services Designer position in
Sydney. Glenn currently needs some help to trobleshoot Window 2000
server and other related products. I've suggested Glenn to contact KMZ
