Saya Puzaw Pwes

=====================================================================

The First Grand RIT Reunion and Saya Puzaw Pwe was held in San

Francisco in October 2000. Nostalgic alums can visit the commemorative

web pages at http://www.ex-rit.org

A Grander Reunion and SPZP was held in Singapore in December 2002.

Several videomasters and/or photographers (Dr. Soe Thein's son, U Khin

Maung Aye (Mech), U Thein Ngwe (RITAJ), ...) and webmasters (Dr. Soe

Thein (Civil), U Aung Mon (Elec), ...) covered the event.

A Much Grander Reunion and Singapore will take place in Yangon in

December 2004. Dr. Soe Thein is again one of the official webmasters

for the event.

Where will SPZP 2006 be? Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, ...)

might offer to host it. Singapore might want to have another SPZP on a

Much Much Grander scale. Is it possible that Los Angeles (Southern

California, US) might host SPZP 2006? Someone suggested "Why not have

SPZP 2006 in Las Vegas (Nevada, US) or some place similar?"

Kathein robe offering ceremonies were held today at Dhammananda

Vihara, Half Moon Bay, California and Taung Pulu Kaba Aye Monastery,

Boulder Creek, California.

Saya U Myat Htoo has served as TBSA President for the past six

years. He earlier planned to take a Sabbatical, but could not due to

the Monastery Construction project. He plans to spend more time in the

future with his two lovely grandchildren.

Ko Maurice Chee has served as President, Vice President, and

Secretary of BAPS for the past six years. He will finish his tenure as

BAPS President in the near future. But, he will not be able to

"retire". He is known not only for his organization skills but also for

his culinary and catering skills. He served as the co-chair of the

Working Committee, Financial Controller, and "Publisher of 'RIT Alumni

International Newsletter' (Special Edition)" for Reunion 2000. His

other [volunteer] contributions include Trip Organizer and Tireless

=====================================================================

Hi Kenny [Wong, Mech 69],

The attachment are the latest of Hla Min's updates. If you will

contact him, he will send you the updates regularly. I salute his

effort & his hard work (as usual like the old days in the '60s) from

Down Under.

I am thinking to have a Semi-Official Gathering of Ex-RITs in

Southern Hemisphere, after I discuss with La la (Aye Win Hlaing,

Christine Latt's hubby) in Sydney NSW at the Most Suitable Place in

Down Under - to represent Southern Hemisphere Group (such as NZ /

Australia / Pacific Rim Islands / South Africa / South America /

Antartic / etc.) as the USA Group is close & quite active.

We in S.H are farway & not having a chance to gather frequently (I

am planning to attend ASHE = American Society of Health-Care

Engineering Annual Conference in July 2005 at Anaheim, LA, Calif and to

attend IFHE = International Federation of Health-Care Engineering in

May 2006 at Cape Town/South Africa)

You can come as the Air Fare to NZ and/or Australia from Sarawek will

be much lower. Do you know that '69 Architect Aung Khin (hubby of '70

Architect Tin Tin Hla) is still in Bostwana (Africa) & their children

are sent to (UK ?) for tertiary education?

Bye for now. May God bless You & Your Family.

Your Pals,

Crocodile Bob-bee & Barbie Doll (Down Under)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Bob [Robert Win Boh],

You are doing a great job and a valuable proposal of alumni meet in

the ANZ area. Organizing a big meet is good but quite hard.

When I attended the first meet in SFO [San Francisco in October,

2000], it was a great success and events and good memories always

reappear again and again.

The next one in S'pore [2002, which had scehdule conflict] is as per

news another great success. More younger alumni joined in S'pore meet.

The third [in Decmeber 2004] will be in Burma.

I think you made a point of meeting in the south hem[isphere]. I

agree with all my heart and hope for the success in the south.

Sincerely and best regards,

Myo khin & Winsome
